The promenade extends along the Lake Ełckie, situated at the city centre. It is a nearly seven kilometre long section of the walking surface, with bike and roller blade lanes.
While walking down the promenade you can visit many pubs and restaurants situated longwise, some of them floating on water. Those who have a car will find many convenient parking places there. During the walk, you can also admire interesting sculptures made during the International Sculptor’s Workshops or sit down on one of the stylish benches. The historic bridge (formerly – drawbridge), sparkling with fabulously colourful lights, leads from the promenade to the island with the Teutonic Order Castle. Many cultural and sports events take place along the beautiful, elegant boulevard, especially in summer.

The Ełk Narrow Gauge Railway – the recognized monument of the technical culture, built between 1910 and 1918 is the only one of its kind in the Warmian-Masurian region.

One of the sports and recreation objects of the City Sports and Recreation Center in Ełk. It comprises: a swimming pool, a recreational pool with water massage, waterfalls, fountains, water jets, 12 beds for hydromassage, a water gym (with bikes for aqua spinning and treadmill), 5 slides for children, ropes for climbing (climbing frame), a barrel, baskets for the water basketball, a 106 meters long slide, 5 person jacuzzi, solarium, saunas: wet, Turkish, infrared, steam room and ice cave.

The „Solidarność” City Park, formerly called the Park of Queen Louisa, is a very important point on the map of the monuments of the city. The remains of the Hindenburg’s Infantry Regiment monument commemorate the soldiers from the 147 Infantry Regiment (named after field marshal Hindenburg) fallen between 1914 and 1918. While crossing the park you can also see the historic fountain and the monument of Michał Kajka.

The Water Tower was built in 1895 on ul. 11 listpoada and was one of the elements of the system of water provision for the citizens of Ełk. The Museum of the Water Drop is situated there presently. Here you can see original, technical instruments formerly used for the provision of drinking water for the city. It is also a seat of the German Ethnic Minority Association „Mazury”.

The neo-Gothic cathedral church dedicated to St Adalbert – bishop and martyr was built in 1893-1895 on ul. Kościuszki, formerly called Yorckstrass. The church was consecrated in October 1903. In 1992, the church dedicated to St Adalbert, Bishop and Martyr was raised to the dignity of the Cathedral of the Ełk diocese and since May 1994 it serves as The Diocesan Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima.

The Church dedicated to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus was built in the neo-Gothic style in 1847-1850. Inside there are: an altar from 1959, four side altars and stained-glass windows depicting the scenes from the life of Jesus Christ.

The Building of Higer Seminary – the historic building from the beginning of the 20th century. Since 1992 it serves as a seat of the Higher Seminary in Ełk.

The Building of the City Hall and District Office was built in 1913. The project of the building comprises three rectangles. Halls with staircases are situated at the places the rectangles meet.Between 1950 and 1971 the attic was converted into office rooms – new dormers and garrets were created then.

The building of  road bridge, which is situated on ul. Zamkowa, had started in 1910. Formerly, the bridge led to the castle island on the Lake Ełckie, now it is the main communicational track in the city. On the bridge, there are historic lamps that had formerly lit it with gas light. Presently, the bridge is decorated with a colourful illumination.

A complex of art nouveau and eclectic tenement houses on ul. Wojska Polskiego 15, 38, 57; Mickiewicza 11; Armii Krajowej 10, 18, 20, 21, 23, 25, 33, 35, 37, 42, 58; 3 maja 10; Chopina 12. The tenement houses the Armii Krajowej (number 23) and the Wojska Polskiego (number 38) are the examples of the Viennese art nouveau. The building on the Wojska Polskiego is particularly original; it represents exceptionally unique blazing art nouveau. In the newly redecorated house, with a beautiful illumination on the Armii Krajowej (number 21) the School of Art’s is situated now. On the sidewall of the building on the Piłsudskiego there is a Krzysztof Hartknoch’s sketch depicting Ełk and all its historical arms.
